In 2018, sixteen Humboldt Broncos players and staff lost their lives in a tragic bus crash. Among them was Logan Boulet. Because Logan had registered as an organ donor, six people received life‑saving transplants, a powerful act of generosity that sparked a national movement.

Green Shirt Day was created to honour and remember all the victims and families affected by the crash, and to carry forward Logan’s legacy. It encourages Canadians to have conversations about organ donation and to register as donors, turning heartbreak into hope for others.
