The clovers in my wallet
There is a baggy of little 4-leaf clovers that go everywhere I go. They live in my wallet, pressed flat and a bit crinkly now, and every one of them was found by my son.
He's the kid who finds Waldo first. Every time. He's the one who spots you coming out of security at the airport before anyone else. His brain just works that way. He notices the small stuff the rest of us walk right past, and honestly? It's beautiful to watch.
So when it came time to design our St. Patrick's Day tee, we didn't have to look very far. The idea was already in my wallet.

The little leaf

This design came straight from real life. If you've ever found a four-leaf clover, you know something most drawings get wrong: the fourth leaf is usually the little one.
It's often small. A bit lopsided. Tucked in a little off-centre, like it squeezed in at the last minute. It's so easy to miss unless you're really, truly looking (or unless you're my son).
That's why we put "Luck is in the little things" right inside that tiny fourth leaf. Not front and centre. Not in giant letters. Just tucked in there, waiting for someone who's paying attention.
What "luck is in the little things" means to me
To me, those five words hold a few different ideas at once.
Luck doesn't just happen. It's what you make of it. My son doesn't find clovers because he's magic. He finds them because he crouches down and looks while everyone else is walking by.
Sometimes luck doesn't look the way you expect. We all picture the perfect, symmetrical four-leaf clover from the cartoons. The real ones are a little wonky. Good things often show up in a different shape than we imagined.
Sometimes the beauty is in the asymmetry. That small, lopsided leaf is the whole reason the clover is special. Take it away and it's just another three-leaf clover in the grass. I think about that a lot, especially as a parent. The quirks are usually the best part.
It's a nice thing for kids to hear on St. Patrick's Day, too. Underneath the green and the leprechaun traps and the gold-coin hunts, there's a pretty great lesson: slow down, pay attention, and notice the small good things around you.
About the tee
Our St. Patrick's Day tee is simple, soft, and easy to throw on for school, the office, or a green-everything family day. Like all our designs, it comes with meaning built right in.
- Sizes for the whole crew: Mini Pea (toddler), Little Pea (youth), Big Pea (unisex adult), and Curvy Pea (women's cut), so you can match without the hassle.
- Canada-first, start to finish: designed with Canadian artists, printed and shipped right here in Canada.
- Softness first: OEKO-TEX® certified fabric from a Canadian-headquartered manufacturer, chosen because it feels great and lasts, not because it was the cheapest.
- A second life: once the season's over, gently worn tees can go to our Passing Forward program, so they keep spreading a little luck to another kid

Go find your little things
This St. Patrick's Day, I hope you get a chance to crouch down in the grass with your kids, or just slow down for a minute and notice the small good stuff. It's usually right there, a little lopsided, waiting for you to spot it.
And if you'd like a reminder you can wear, the "Luck is in the little things" tee is ready when you are. We handle the details, so you don't have to.
